Notes in Digital Photo
Rule of thirds
Divide the frame into 3rds
Vertical and Horizontal
Lines or intersection for main subject.
(This rule has been around for thousands of years.)
Every photo should have a subject, it's also known as the center of interest.
Keep photos simple, only include things important to the message.
Diagonal Lines
Gives Action to a Photo
Contrast in size and shape- point of interest on a diagonal lines.
Curved Lines
create a peaceful, relaxed feeling
Framing
Using an Object in the foreground, such as a tree of a bush to surround the Center of interest and draws the eye to the center of interest. Gives photo depth!
Leading Lines
Strong objects- dark or large that direct the eye through the frame.
Pattern and Texture
Has NO center of interest
no one place the eye comes to a rest, usually has a repeating shape, this is a mood shot.
Weight
Contrast in color or shape with one dark and one light or one one small and one large.
The eye is normally attracted to the largest objects of to the lightest area in the dark frame.
Balance
Balance happens in a photo when the Large dominant shape is placed near the center of the photo, OR
placed near the edge of the photo with a smaller object near the other edge to make the photo seem even or equal.
Horizon Lines
If the horizon is visible in the photo it should be placed according to the rule of 3rds along the dividing line.
Motion
Motion Frozen, and Motion Blur
The camera exposure controls can effect the motion ina picture and how it will look.
Background
The camera exposure controls can make the background in focus or out of focus
Included or simplified.

Day One
We are sitting in class, it's actually day 3 of Digital Photo, not one, but today is the first blog entry. We are learning the about the largest picture ever taken from the world's largest Pinhole Camera. It's the most interesting thing that's happened in this class so far. Jared says It's boring.
Would I consider myself a professional photographer...? YES!
Silent Laughter as Mr.Clooten droans on and on.
Is that how you spell droan?
Nod my head yes, But I'm not sure...
Mr.Clooten has magical powers of description. He has novels of cameras and his adventures as a boy in japan with the giant 5mm crank monster. There were two! Monsters!
I really don't know what he is talking about...
I made his boring description of Japanese cameras into an awesome adventure.
oh! nicely done! I just color coordinated our diction!
Mr.Clooten can't draw like Mr.Biere on the whiteboard. This is a disgrace to people like Mr.Biere.
Aww, Do you miss Physics Jared? I DON'T! haha, I was the one who liked Mr. Biere, you thought he was mean.
I hate everything about MR.Biere's cave of wonders or whatever he called his class!
Tuck tuck tuck! Haha, Our blog is like instant messaging, or virtual note passing. While we were talking to each other, Mr.Clooten has been talking about Kleenex vs. Paper towels for blowing your nose, so i'm not tuned in.
Just like a paper towel will scartch your nose... It will scratch your lense.
Yep, now you know. Don't clean your lense with something you wouldnt use to whipe your nose.
Here's some advice... never blow your nose with sandpaper,
or clean your lense with it.
It's scratchy!
Moving on, we are learing about compisition.
I actually just learned something!
What?
How to take a picture, the subject should be looking in to the frame or moving in to the frame.
facinating. I just want to start taking pictures.
Word.
The lecture is over! Questions? None! haha, back to doing nothing.
I love this class.
I still need to pay my fee! 60 dollars is a lot of money. Sheesh, maybe my mom will chip in.
Psh... - This weekend we have got to watch this amazing movie that I watched in US history! I has wolverine and batman in it. It's so good! I think it's called the Prestige.
Okay... I have hockey all weekend we will watch it on... I don't know what day.
Well friday is my birthday! Today is Kelsy's birthday. Wrinkles! hahaahahahahah.
Cackle. This is the part of class that nothing happens. Mr.Clooten is not talking now it's time to google random junk!! Yesssssss (Napolean Dynamite Yes)
Allyse is googling prom dresses. Cute! Our blog is kinda boring.
People will read this! NOT!
Oh well. So Jared, How's your life? In complete detail.
Three words... De pres sion
That's nice.
Read this word out loud... Ahoolah (in a hick voice)
Auh HOOOO luh!
Sydney is cackling right now!
mr. clooten is booooooorrrring.
